The official sources

School information comes from the Ministry of Education’s term and holiday dates page. Public holiday and anniversary information comes from Employment New Zealand and govt.nz.

Legislation is checked against the Holidays Act 2003 and Te Kāhui o Matariki Public Holiday Act 2022 on legislation.govt.nz. Each calendar page lists its sources and the day they were read.

Checking the calendar

Each date comes from an official page or from the legislation and is independently compared with that source again. Weekdays are calculated from the dates.

Entries are published only after verification. Missing official dates stay marked as unpublished, and notes explain where a school decision or local custom affects the result.

An independent reference

The site is independently operated and does not represent a government agency. Where an entry differs from its official source, rely on the official page.

Requesting a correction

Report a possible error through the contact page, including the affected page address and the official source where possible. This makes it easier to locate the entry and check the difference.

Exam date sources

NCEA and Scholarship dates come from NZQA’s exam timetable page and assessment timetable documents. Copies of these sources are read and stored on the day recorded on each page. Dates are shown exactly as NZQA publishes them.
